Look Within

Below is an article taken from the Simple Healing website owned and run by us. We will be sharing this and others with you here over the coming days and weeks and, as time allows, will be adding posts about our own Spiritual Journeys – which are, of course, ongoing. If this, or any other article raises questions for you, or if you would like to request Distant Healing, you can click on the direct link to our website in the side bar or on the dedicated pages in the header bar of this blog.  Please bear in mind that not all the other articles cross referenced in this one are on this blog yet but they are available on the website and will be added to this blog over time so we have left the references in place. The hyperlinks will take you to the website. Because of the way blogging works, the articles will appear in the opposite order to how they appear on the website.

If you have attended Spiritual groups in the past or currently belong to one, you are likely to have been told at some point to “look within” to find the answers you seek.

What is sometimes not explained is exactly what is meant by this instruction and many people valiantly try to comply but never really know if they have succeeded in what they are trying to do.

So, when you try to look within what are you trying to find and how do you do it?

The spirit within you decided to have the experience of a life on the earth plane. It was implanted into the foetus during the 12th week of pregnancy and this child grew to become the person that is now you.

However, there is much preparation within the Spirit World before such an implantation takes place. If the Spirit has had a previous earthly life, it must have reviewed that life and dealt with any Karmic debt accumulated during that previous lifetime. It will also need to come back without memories that could interfere with the life that you are living now, although it will have knowledge of certain skills that it had in the past but not the context of how it knows them. For more information about this see Re-incarnation and Your Purpose For This Life. When you are looking within, your conscious self is deliberately joining with the inner being that is the Spirit inside the human body and learning to make use of the knowledge it has along with its connection to the Spirit World that is never severed.

Instinct

As you progress with your personal development and your connection with Spirit you are also learning to connect more strongly with your inner being. The combined knowledge and connection to Spirit that your inner being has can be of great use to you and has always been a part of your life although you have most likely called it ‘instinct’. If you have always listened to your instinct, do not stop now, especially if you have started your developmental journey, for it will only become stronger and more reliable. If you have been inclined to ignore what your instinct has told you in the past, now would be a good time to start taking notice of it and seeing how often you are, or would be, right to do so. Your inner being is able to help you when for your Guides to do so would be interference in your life.

How to “Look Within”

In order to connect with your inner being, you need to do exactly the same as you do to connect with Spirit see Developing Your Connection. If you have situations to deal with and you need help to clarify your thoughts, the time to do this is when you are doing your Simple Relaxation. Do not try to force this process and do not expect answers to hit you like a lightning bolt. You must just let the process happen and be aware it might seem as though nothing is happening for a while, but the more you try to ‘chase’ it, the more you will block it. Evaluate what your instinct is telling you is the right thing to do, and if it feels right to you, go with it. Learning to trust is a matter of practice.

You will find that the more you relax and allow the process to happen, the more often you will feel confident that the decisions you are making are correct.

Protection

Below is an article taken from the Simple Healing website owned and run by us. If you have made the decision to begin or continue your developmental journey, learning to protect yourself is extremely important

You may be surprised to read the above statement and wonder what you need to be protected from. When you begin your development you are opening up a connection to Spirit. This affects your aura which will gradually become bigger and brighter.

If you do not learn to protect yourself by “dampening down” your aura after you have finished meditating or working with Spirit, you are likely to find your energy becoming depleted when you are in the company of people whose energy levels are lower than yours and who unknowingly tap into yours whilst in your company. While allowing this to happen may feel like an altruistic thing to do, it would not take very long before you felt the ill effects, and not only cease to be of help to anyone else, but would be in need of help yourself.

Another reason to protect yourself is so that you do not attract the attention of Spirits who have remained close to the earth plane. There are a number of reasons why this sometimes happens at the end of an earthly life:

  • Sometimes the Spirit had a particularly strong connection to a place or to people and is not yet ready to leave and return home due to a mistaken belief that they would be severing all ties

  • Very occasionally, after a sudden passing, the spirit does not realise what has happened and can take some time to be convinced

  • It can also happen when someone has chosen to lead a life on earth that has paid no heed to the harm their choices caused, in the mistaken belief that Spirit does not exist and therefore there will not be any price to pay. After passing over, the shock and sometimes shame can lead some spirits to decide not to cross fully to the spirit world and remain close to the earth plane instead

Void

There is a void between the earth plane and the Spirit World which is where Spirits who choose not to make the final crossing home at that time remain. Spirit works constantly to locate these earthbound spirits and help them to make the transition. There are also people on earth who have chosen to use their connection with Spirit to help in this matter too. They are called Rescue Workers and it is very valuable work. Free will does not end when the spirit leaves the physical body however and if a Spirit resists attempts to help them to make the transition, they cannot be forced to, but they are never given up on.

The reason that this can be a problem for you if you do not learn to protect yourself, is because there is very little energy in this void and they are drawn to you in order to top theirs up. This will have the same effect as another person doing this as discussed above.

These earthbound Spirits cannot actually do you any physical harm other than draining your energy so you should not be alarmed by what you are reading here.

You may be wondering why you need to learn to do this – after all, it is what your Guides are for is it not? There are two reasons

  • Your Guides have other things to do too

  • Your well being is your responsibility and you must learn to take the appropriate steps

How to protect yourself is simple and a matter of practice.

Remember that this should be done at the end of meditation and/or a period of working with Spirit. Choose whichever way suits you best and do this with your feet on the floor to allow the excess energy to flow to earth.

  • Imagine yourself standing under a waterfall or shower and allow the water to wash the excess energy away and draw your aura closer to your body again. See it becoming dimmer as it does so

  • Imagine yourself standing in a sack and draw the sack up over your head and tie it. As you do this, mentally disconnect from Spirit

  • Picture yourself with a large shawl that is big enough to extend from the crown of your head to your feet when it is opened out. Then picture yourself drawing the shawl around your head and body bringing your aura back to your body and dimming as it does so

This process should not need to take more than a minute or so and is all you need to do.

Effective Meditation

Meditation is the tool whereby you can establish and develop your own connection with Spirit.

Meditation has been used in many different ways for centuries. Some are effective, most are not. It began very simply and has always been employed by Spirit as a way to initiate communication with people. As time has gone on and life has become more complicated, human nature being what it is has led people to look for something ‘more’ and many methods of meditation now reflect what people think will be more effective.

Some methods employed by particular groups (such as some monks for example) to achieve an exceptionally deep level of mediation are suitable for their needs but not for the average person.

Most other methods that are popularly used to achieve a state of meditation are usually ineffective.

The most successful way to reach effective meditation

The best and most successful way to reach the desired state of effective meditation is through Simple Relaxation. When you master the art of deep relaxation, as you will if you follow the advice given on this web site, meditation is a natural progression. You do not have to do anything extra or anything differently. The more you do this, the more effective your meditations will become.

Trying to force a meditation is counter-productive and will not work as your conscious mind will interfere with the process. The single most important thing you can do is find a comfortable position with your body and head well supported then allow your body to settle into the relaxation and the rest will happen naturally if you allow it to by doing nothing else.

It is not necessary to:

  • sit cross-legged

  • rest your hands on your legs, palms face up

  • touch finger tip to thumb tip to create an “o” shape

  • hum

  • keep your head upright

  • force yourself to remain awake – if you do this properly, there are times when you will fall asleep. IT DOES NOT MATTER.

Not only are the above things unnecessary, you are very unlikely to achieve effective meditation if you use them.

Guided Meditation

Some people use Guided Meditation. A guided meditation is not a true meditation. If someone is talking you into a very slightly altered state of consciousness you are being taken to where they want to go not to where you can achieve the truly relaxed state that is useful to both you and your Guides. Guided meditation involves visualization and this occupies your conscious mind which will block a true meditation. The most you can hope to achieve with a guided meditation is relaxation, but not deep relaxation.

Simple Relaxation (Article)

This is the single most important thing you will do in your quest for an effective connection with Spirit. It is also the most effective “self-help” tool at your disposal. If you decide not to begin or continue with your Spiritual development at this time, daily relaxation is still very beneficial to your general well being. Spirit will not work with you if you have not expressed a wish to do so.

If you are ready for Spiritual development and choose to miss out this step, not only will you make your development unnecessarily difficult, you will hinder it.

Very few people achieve total relaxation with ease but it is worth persevering and learning this art for it will bring many benefits:

  • When you are relaxed it is much easier for spirit to draw closer to you and to work with you

  • Your physical body will benefit from a break from the stress hormones

  • Your mind will become calmer and your thinking will become clearer

  • As time goes on, you will become generally more balanced and better able to cope with whatever happens in your life

  • 20 minutes of deep relaxation is worth approximately 2 hours of refreshing sleep but it should never used to replace sleep in order to add more hours to your day. This would adversely affect your health and would mean that Spirit would have to step back and stop working with you. Despite your free will, Spirit have responsibilities when working with you and one of these is not to help you to do yourself harm

  • You will learn to meditate in a natural, unforced way

To achieve Simple Relaxation:

  • Find somewhere quiet where you will not be disturbed and where you can either sit or lie comfortably with support for your head.

  • If you have some, put on some relaxation music and make yourself comfortable. If you have chosen to do this to develop your connection, say in your head “please work with me today”. This makes your intentions clear.

  • Close your eyes and take in a deep breath then let it out slowly – when you think that you have got rid of it all, gently squeeze your tummy muscles by pulling your navel towards your spine to get rid of the rest.

  • Follow this with 3 slow deep breaths in and out (it is not necessary to squeeze the tummy muscles for these) then breathe normally.

  • Starting at your toes, gently stretch them out then allow them to relax.

  • Next go to your calf muscles, gently flex them and allow them to relax

  • Move to your thigh muscles and flex and relax in the same gentle manner

  • Gently tighten and relax your tummy muscles and then the muscles in your chest

  • Move to your fingers and gently stretch and relax

  • Move to your forearms; gently flex the muscles and relax

  • Now gently flex and relax the muscles in your upper arms

  • Gently shrug your shoulders and relax

  • Lastly, gently screw up your face then relax

All you need to do now is enjoy being where you are – your whole body will be in a state of relaxation. Allow thoughts to just flit through your mind without focusing on them. Remain like this for as long as you feel able. At first you may only be able to achieve 5 or 10 minutes but as you become more proficient you are likely to be able to achieve about 20 minutes each time.

Gently

We have emphasized gently each time because this is very important – if you squeeze too hard, the muscles will not fully relax afterwards and you will be unable to achieve deep relaxation. This is a mistake that is very commonly made.

Do not waste time trying to empty your mind – no matter what you may have been told in the past, whilst you are in a human body this is not possible. Follow the advice contained in the last bullet point and you will find that your mind will calm and not interfere with your relaxation unless you are particularly worried or upset about something. If this should be the case, it will probably be better to wait until you are in a better frame of mind – possibly later in the day or even the following day. This is not failure on your part, merely part of living an earthly life!

Frequency

How often should you do this? Daily will give you the best results but if this is not possible, aim to make it part of your routine as often as possible. See also Developing Your Connection

Developing your Connection

In this article we wish to discuss how to develop your connection to Spirit and the reasons for doing so.

Why?

We will deal with the reasons first. Before you do anything new it is always advisable to understand why.

  • You will be helping yourself to live in a sometimes stressful and demanding world by gradually achieving balance in the way you live your life, the way you view your circumstances and the way you deal with other people and events.

  • You will have a beneficial influence on the community around you merely because others will see that you have balance in your life and they will want the same. Unconsciously, they will start to copy or reflect they way you live which will benefit society as a whole. This will happen without you having to say a single word about it. See also A Life Well Lived – Personal Responsibility for more information about this.

How?

Now we will deal with how to develop your own connection. Your connection with Spirit is unique to you and the way that you will work with your Guides and Helpers will be what is right for all of you. You will also develop at a different rate than someone else. These matters are affected by many things including:

  • how much time you are able/want to give to your development

  • what you want to do with your connection

  • what else is happening in your life at that time

  • your state of health and energy levels

  • what is right for you at any given time (this will be decided by your Guides – your best interests are always their first priority)

  • how well you deal with the times during your development that you appear to have stopped progressing. These times will happen and impatience on your part will prolong them

So, how do you communicate with Spirit? Clearly you cannot do so by making a telephone call or sending a text message or an e-mail! Spirit and human beings live within different vibrational levels and your training with each other is to enable these levels to come closer together in order to allow better communication between you.

The first thing you need to do is learn the art of deep relaxation. (See Simple Relaxation) In the beginning it is only while you are in this state that spirit can draw any closer to you.

How often do you need to do this?

Daily if possible but if this is not possible it needs to be as often as you can manage it. The more this is done, the stronger your connection with Spirit will become.

If you wish to do this more than once a day, purely for your general well being, it is fine to do so. However, it will not speed the progress of your development if you are already progressing at the rate that your Guides feel is right for you. As you become proficient at this art, you will naturally progress from deep relaxation to meditation. It is during meditation that you will usually become aware of direct communication with your Guides. This will only happen when your Guides know that you are ready for it and will not necessarily coincide with when you think you are.

It is only by mastering this that you will be able to make a significant difference to your connection with Spirit. Establishing an effective connection with Spirit takes time although just how much will vary from person to person. If you have been led to believe differently, the information you were given is wrong.

Spirit consider being able to work with a fellow Spirit while they are occupying a body on the earth plane to be a privilege. It provides an opportunity to help both the individual and the planet and all it’s occupants as a whole. However to do so takes a great deal of time and effort, therefore this will only be done if it is what you really want. Simply saying that you want it is not enough; many people change their mind when it comes to the reality of following it through. Only time will prove that this is what you really want and the more dedicated you are to devoting time for relaxation and meditation on a regular basis the more you are proving to Spirit that you are ready to do this and the more Spirit will work with you. It is a two way process of trust.

Over a period of time, as your connection to each other strengthens, it is possible that you may become aware of the presence of Spirit from time to time as you go about your daily business although, as mentioned in An Overview of Spiritual Healing And Spirituality this does not happen with everyone. Do not try to read too much into these visits – it may be that your Guides are trying to draw your attention to something such as a family member who would benefit from your help for example, but in the main they are basically training exercises so acknowledge their presence and enjoy the experiences as they arise.

We will finish this article by mentioning some things that will interfere with your developmental progress.

  • As mentioned in Can I Be A Healer?, it is imperative that you control your ego. If you do not do this it will slow down your progress considerably as you will not pick up the subtle teachings from your Guides.

  • Avoid attempting to force the pace – you can only go at the speed that is right for you, and any attempt on your part to go faster will have the opposite affect so do your best to control your natural enthusiasm.

  • Starting this process with pre-conceived ideas. There are many misconceptions regarding Spirituality so it is much better to put anything else you may have been told out of your mind and begin this as something brand new to you. You cannot be open to new ideas if you are hanging on to old ones. As your development progresses, time will show you which of the things you have been told in the past have any relevance to what you are learning now.

It is as simple to do as has been written on this page. Ceremonies are not necessary, special clothing is not necessary and mystique is certainly not necessary. However, Personal Development, once begun does not stop. It is an ongoing process that continues for the rest of your time on earth or until you decide otherwise.

Finally, any work you do with Spirit is done entirely through Free will if you decide at any point that you no longer wish to continue, you will be able to stop. If at any time in the future you decide that you are ready to try again, you will be able to do so. You will, however, be starting again from the beginning, not from where you left off and it may take longer to prove to Spirit that you really do want to do it this time.

If you begin your developmental journey at the right time for you, and dedicate yourself to it, you will find it to be very rewarding. If you do not wish to become a Healer you can still develop spiritually purely for yourself. This is perfectly acceptable to Spirit as it means you will be living your life in the best way you can. This alone is very worthwhile for the example you will set and the effect it will have on everyone and everything around you. However, your desire for doing so still needs to be sincere and pure, not selfish. The rewards that you get from it should be seen as a bonus and not a focus. If the latter were to be the case, you would be disappointed.

Living a truly Spiritual life is not a penance; it is life enhancing and is achievable for anyone who really wants to do it.

If you have decided that the time is right for you to begin or continue with your developmental journey please read the article on Protection

Crystals and Healing

Crystals have been used to help to facilitate healing for thousands of years and Crystal Healing is currently very popular. Like many things that have been in use for a long time there are many different ideologies surrounding this subject and the object of this article is to provide you with simple information to allow you to make your own choices.

Crystal Healing is being discussed separately from Other Therapies because crystals are elemental objects that do have the potential to be of help. However, the way they work has become obscured over the years and the subject has become unnecessarily complicated.

Are crystals beneficial to the healing process?

Our objective in this article is to give simple facts regarding how crystals may be beneficial to the healing process. Crystals have the ability to hold energy and then slowly release that energy. The fact that they have their own energy shows this. Unfortunately, over time, people have mistakenly developed the belief that the energy within the crystal is a powerful healing energy. In reality it is much the same as a person giving away their energy to help someone else – it will have a slight effect and will eventually run out. This is the reason why so many different ways of “cleansing” and “re-charging” crystals have been developed over the years.

How is it used?

A crystal can be of effective help in the healing process when it has been charged with energy by Spirit. This would be done by someone who is developing their connection with Spirit and who would hold the crystal in their hand as they meditate and ask for the crystal to be charged with healing energy. This only needs to be done once. The crystal can then be given to the person who needs it and as they either wear it or carry it on their person the crystal can slowly release the energy within it. There is no need to cleanse it in any way first unless it is physically dirty and then it could be washed to make it more aesthetically pleasing or for hygiene purposes.

At the same time as asking for the crystal to be charged with energy a Healer will also ask for Distant Healing for that person. This means that as spirit visit the person to impart the Healing Energy, the crystal is charged at the same time.

If the crystal is not to be worn as a piece of jewellery, it is best if the person that the crystal is intended for can choose their own piece. This is because they can choose a size and shape that is comfortable for them to hold or keep in a pocket and also makes them feel part of their own healing process.

This is all that is needed for crystals to be beneficial. It is not only unnecessary for the patient to lie down and have crystals placed around the body in any set way, there is every likelihood that the beneficial effect of them being used in this way would be minimal if they were not also being used with hands on or distant healing.

Is the colour important?

Contrary to some thinking, the colour of the crystal is unimportant – the healing energy will be used in the way that the body needs it regardless of colour and although a good quality crystal is the best receptacle for the healing energy, it will still work with chips and blemishes – even if the points receive damage. If this were not the case it would not be possible to mine it without rendering it useless.

Despite all that has been said above, crystals are not actually necessary to the healing process. Both hands on and distant healing are effective without them but some people feel comforted by having something that is a physical reminder of the healing energy they are receiving.

Other Therapies

If you type words such as new age, alternative or complementary therapies into your internet search engine, you may be surprised by just how many you would be able to choose from.

If you talk to other people about looking for something like this you could very well get as many different recommendations as the number of people that you ask.

Why are there so many?

There are several reasons for the vast number of therapies available, these are the most common:

  • People have misinterpreted something that they received from Spirit which has then been passed on by word of mouth or in writings which has then gradually changed even more.

  • When something does not work as quickly as people want it to or in the way that they want it to, they will look for something that they think will be better

  • There have been people throughout the ages who have seen this and decided to turn the situation to their own advantage and provide what is wanted regardless of whether or not it has any validity – usually for a substantial fee.

  • A great many do not work other than psychologically therefore people look for something else.

Do any of these other therapies have anything to offer?

Ultimately, the therapies that do make some difference have a direct input from Spirit. Sometimes the therapist carrying out the treatment is aware of this and is deliberately connecting with Spirit during the treatment and sometimes they make a connection without being aware of it. Any therapist who doesn’t make a connection to Spirit, deliberate or not, will either not make any difference to the patient or will give the patient a temporary and slight lift by giving away their own energy. The latter reason is why some therapies recommend that their practitioners work in pairs or groups.

The last paragraph states that some therapists make a connection with Spirit without being aware of it. We wish to make it very clear that Spirit will never work with anyone against their will. However, people do not always fully understand what they are doing when they train in their particular therapy and although they realise that they are offering something they do not always fully understand its origin. Some therapies and healing groups refer to Universal Energy for example – this is the same thing as Spiritual Energy.

Connection to Spirit achieved in this way is usually not very strong and is why the results achieved are often disappointing and/or short lived. In short, whatever therapy is used, its efficacy, if any, is a direct result of the input of Spiritual Energy.

Symbolism

If you have trained in a therapy that uses symbolism and have been taught that it is this that allows spirit to work through you, this is not correct and you need to learn to make a connection for yourself using the method described in Developing your connection If you then wish to carry on using symbols in your work it will be your choice. Spirit do not find them necessary however.

Direct Spiritual Healing from a Healer who has taken time to achieve a strong connection to Spirit will give the most effective results it is possible to give in any individual case. Some Spiritual Healers have also trained in other therapies in order to be able to offer as much as possible. This is not necessary, but some people who are not comfortable with the concept of Spiritual Healing are happier with other forms of therapy and because it means that that person will be helped, Spirit will still work in these circumstances.

A great many of these other therapies carry a heavy financial aspect. Spirit does not have any problem if a Healer levies a reasonable charge for their time although Healing Energy is always free. You may wish to look again if a fee for treatment or training in a therapy seems to be high.

Spirit will work with anyone who is managing to do some good but will step back and not work with someone if what they are doing will cause harm or whose motives are so selfish that they outweigh any good achieved.

We have chosen not to discuss any of the individual therapies that are available because as Human Beings with free will, you have to make your own decisions regarding this matter.

Ann

I thought it might be a good idea to tell you a bit about what brought me to healing in the first place. Like, I suspect, the majority of healers, I was introduced to it out of necessity. I’d been ill and my energy levels were in my boots – in fact probably underneath them! After nearly 3 months and cutting so far back on my workload that I was only averaging 2 days a week, I was still struggling to put one foot in front of the other. It was a very dark time for me and a concerned friend suggested that I went to see a healer who was helping her husband.

A few weeks later, I still hadn’t done anything about it because my energy levels were so low that it felt like yet one more thing to do. I don’t know if you’ve ever felt like this – if you haven’t, I sincerely hope that you never do but if you have you’ll understand where I’m coming from.

What finally prompted me to take action came about because the healer concerned and I were in the same meeting and he could see how much I was struggling. At the end of the meeting he came over to talk to me and lightly rested his hand on the top of my back while we talked and just allowed the energy to flow. (He already knew from my friend that I had no problems about accepting healing and the reason why I hadn’t yet done anything about it or he wouldn’t have done it.) The difference it made to me was so huge that I rang him the following day to make an appointment!

There was no ‘miracle cure’ but over the next 6 weeks or so, I started to regain my energy and strength and began to enjoy life again. It was during this time that he told me how I could train to do this to if I wanted to. Did I ever!! The opportunity to make a difference to other people with something so simple that could only help and would cause no harm appealed enormously.

What I had begun to understand about spirituality was also making a lot of sense to me and I was beginning to understand so many things about my life that had previously puzzled me and what I had thought was the beginning of my spiritual and healing journey was actually anything but! That bit is for another day though.

And the Healer who made this life changing difference? Well, it was Tom – but that’s definitely a whole other story…………!!

Distant Healing

Most Healers practice Distant Healing as well as Hands on Healing. They find this to be a very useful tool as it allows them to help people they are not able to help with Hands on Healing. In this manner many, many more people are helped than it would otherwise be possible to reach.

What is Distant Healing and does it work as well as Hands on Healing?

A Healer will set aside time to connect with his or her Guides and request them to help a particular person. There are a number of different ways currently employed by Healers to do this and which one they use is likely to be influenced by the healing organisation they belong to.

Some groups and individual Healers have books so that Distant Healing requests may be written down. There is nothing wrong with this and for busy Healers and groups it is a very good way to be sure that none are missed. However, it is far more effective for each person in the book to be named individually.

Giving Spirit the name and whereabouts of the person requiring the Healing means that the Healer’s request can be acted upon much more quickly than if a general request for all the names added to the book since the last request is received.

Is anything special needed?

It is not necessary to have a special ceremony or time to do this. It can be done at any time and anywhere. It can be done as a Healer finishes daily meditation before closing down the connection (see Protection) or the Healer can find somewhere quiet and specifically establish a connection in order to make their request. The latter way tends to be easier for Healers to do as they gain experience, but it is only through practice that a Healer will gain that experience and with each request they will also be helping to strengthen their connection.

Nor is there need to use special wording, a simple, polite request is enough. The only thing that makes any difference is making sure that you do make a connection so that your request is heard. As has been stated in other articles, Spirit are not allowed to interfere with free will and therefore cannot act unless directly and explicitly asked to do so.

Distant Healing works in the same way as Hands on Healing – spiritual energy is given to a person or animal for their body to use. The difference is that with Distant Healing, Spirit does not have a Healer’s body to channel the energy through and usually impart the energy while the recipient is resting or sleeping.

Why have Hands on Healing if Distant Healing works just as well?

  • Giving Hands on Healing means that the Healer is physically with that person. This gives them the opportunity to talk about their concerns and fears which is also part of the healing process.

  • The room where the healing takes place will be filled with Spirit which means that the energy in the room will be very calming and peaceful which has a very beneficial effect.

  • The physical sensation of the Healing Energy entering the body is very comforting and relaxing for most people.

Can I Be A Healer?

Every person on this planet has the potential to become a Healer!

This may seem like a sweeping statement, but it is true. In some ways, as you will see in due course, it is also simple. However, it does require commitment and time. There are people who will argue that healing is a gift and that if you have this gift, you should just be able to use it and that it can’t be “trained” into someone. This point is dealt with in An Overview Of Spiritual Healing and Spirituality.

What do I have to do?

To become a Healer, your first priority is to develop your link to Spirit. Each and every person can do this if they so choose. It is not an obligation unless you wish to be a Healer and not the right thing for everyone. If the latter is the case for you, it would be better for you to try something that does not require this personal development.

The main criteria are a desire to help others and a willingness to give of your time.

What you do not need is ego! If your desire is to seek fame and fortune, raise your standing in the community or to be able to state that you are a Healer, Spiritual Healing is not for you. Spirit cannot work properly under these circumstances because the ego blocks the connection. Make no mistake; the Healing Energy comes from spirit, not from you. See An Overview Of Spiritual Healing and Spirituality for an explanation of this.

All Spiritual Healing is given from a basis of love and without judgment.

Ask yourself:

  • am I willing to help anyone who approaches me?

  • am I willing to devote the time necessary to develop a strong connection to spirit?

  • am I willing to devote the time necessary to maintain that connection and to build upon it?

  • am I willing to accept the responsibilities that come with making the decision to do this?

  • am I willing to do all this without expecting plaudits for it?

  • do I accept that this is not a hobby that I can just pick up and put down again as the fancy takes me?

If you can answer yes to these questions, it is worth your while making further enquiries.

Spiritual Healing is very rewarding, but this reward should be seen as a delightful by-product and not a goal.
